Position Summary: The Industrial Construction QA/QC Department Technician will be responsible for ensuring the highest quality standards and compliance with project specifications, codes, and regulations across various industrial construction projects. This role requires a professional capable of performing detailed inspections in diverse and challenging environments, including confined spaces and at elevated heights, while strictly adhering to our rigorous safety protocols. Familiarity with ASME as well as AWS.
Requirements
Key Responsibilities:
Perform comprehensive quality inspections on industrial construction projects. Conduct welding inspections in accordance with AWS standards and project specifications. Execute coating inspections to ensure proper application and adherence to NACE/SSPC standards (if applicable). Conduct civil inspections, verifying compliance with design documents and relevant codes (if applicable). Thoroughly document all inspection findings, including non-conformances and corrective actions. Collaborate with project teams to resolve quality issues and implement preventive measures. Participate in pre-task planning and safety meetings to ensure safe execution of all inspection activities. Enter vessels, boilers, and other confined spaces to perform inspections, adhering to all permit-required confined space entry procedures. Work safely at elevated heights, utilizing appropriate fall protection systems and following all OSHA regulations. Travel occasionally to various project sites within and outside the North Florida region.
Required Qualifications:
Minimum: Current and valid Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) Certification. Demonstrated capability to safely enter and work within confined spaces (e.g., vessels, boilers). Proven ability to safely perform work at elevated heights, utilizing fall protection equipment. Possession of a valid driver's license and a clean driving record for occasional travel.
Highly Desired Qualifications:
Experience in coating inspection (NACE/SSPC certifications preferred). Experience in civil inspection. Familiarity with OSHA 29 CFR 1926 Subpart AA (Confined Spaces in Construction) and 29 CFR 1926.501 (Fall Protection).
