Description
The Assistant Foundry Manager is responsible for overseeing day-to-day foundry operations during second shift, ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality production. Reporting directly to the Foundry Manager, this role provides hands-on leadership to supervisors and production teams while supporting continuous improvement initiatives and ensuring operational targets are achieved.
This position plays a key role in maintaining compliance with safety, quality, and environmental standards while driving performance and accountability on the shop floor.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and supervise second-shift foundry operations to meet production, quality, and delivery objectives.
- Provide direct leadership, guidance, and support to supervisors and production employees.
- Ensure appropriate staffing levels, training, and work assignments to support operational demands.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for all foundry operations during second shift.
- Enforce all safety policies, procedures, and PPE requirements while promoting a strong safety culture.
- Ensure compliance with environmental, health, and regulatory standards.
- Monitor daily production performance and address issues impacting throughput, scrap rates, downtime, or quality.
- Identify and implement opportunities to improve safety, productivity, quality, and cost performance.
- Provide detailed and effective shift handoff communication to first-shift leadership.
- Report key metrics, production challenges, and staffing concerns to the Foundry Manager.
- Maintain accurate production, labor, and operational records as required.

Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required; technical certification or associate degree preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in foundry operations or heavy manufacturing.
- Prior supervisory or team lead experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong working knowledge of foundry processes, equipment, and materials.
- Demonstrated ability to lead teams effectively in a fast-paced, industrial setting.
